Dry Needling

Dry Needling in or around Melbourne to release muscles and relieve pain.

Our Podiatrists have done extra training in Dry Needling which is a treatment modality that can be used in conjunction with other treatment options for a range of different musculoskeletal conditions.

The object of Dry Needling is to release taught or tight bands in the muscle called trigger points that may be causing local or referred pain. This in turn allows the muscles to relax, improve function, reduce pain & decrease risk of musculoskeletal injury.

This process is generally non-painful as the needles are very thin, a patient may feel a dull aching sensation as the tight bands of muscle contract at the needle site and then release. The needles are left in situ for 5-10 minutes and is performed in an initial or review consult.

Conditions we treat:

Achilles Tendinopathy
Peroneal Tendinopathy
Tibialis Anterior Tendinopathy
Plantar Fasciitis
